Here are the key changes to know about in the New Zealand equity market; Tower, Meridian, Hallensteins, and Spark are the top gainers as Investore, Tourism Holdings, Fletcher, and Stride Property are the main decliners

Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The index is looking at a -0.5% decline today, down -1.6% over the past five days. Year-on-year it has gained +2.6%.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 25 gainers but all them minor today. Tower Limited (TWR, #41) gained +1%, declining by -5% month-on-month. Year-on-year Tower is up a large +47%. Meridian Energy (MEL, #2) also gained +1%, up +3% for the month. Year-on-year Meridian has declined -3%. Hallenstein Glassons (HLG, #44) went up +1%, gaining +13% over the last six months. Year-on-year Hallenstein Glassons has gained +17%. Spark (SPK, #12) gained +0.5%, declining by -9% over the past six months, and -23% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
The decliners tally almost doubled the gainers today at 50 led by both Investore Property Limited (IPL, #48) and Tourism Holdings (THL, #43) each declining -3%. Investore Property is down -4% over the past five days, down -2% year-on-year. Tourism Holdings has gained a healthy +22% over the past six months, up +32% year-on-year. Fletcher Building (FBU, #13) and Stride Property Group (SPG, #39) both declined by -2%. Fletcher Building has gained +5% month-on-month, up +30% year-on-year. Stride Property has declined by -7% month-on-month, down -3% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
a2 Milk (ATM, #7) has announced several Executive Leadership Team changes following the resignation of Eleanor Khor, Managing Director ANZ and Strategy, who will leave at the end of March 2026. Jaron McVicar, currently Chief Legal and Sustainability Officer and Company Secretary, will take over leadership of the ANZ business unit while retaining responsibility for Sustainability. Kate Tidbury will join the ELT as Chief Legal Officer and become Company Secretary, replacing Jaron. CFO David Muscat will assume leadership of Corporate Strategy, with China Strategy and Analytics reporting directly to Xiao Li, Chief Executive of Greater China. All changes will take effect at the end of March.
