Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The index is up +0.2% today, but has taken a -0.6% hit over the past five sessions. Year-on-year it remains in the green, up +3.4%.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 32 gainers to close the trading week. Argosy (ARG, #31) had the biggest gain, only just, up +2%. Argosy's share price has declined by -4% over the past five days, gaining +17% year-on-year. Infratil (IFT, #4) gained +1%, up +2% over the last five days. Over the last six months Infratil has declined -8%, staying just above level year-on-year up +1%. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #32) also gained +1%, up +2% month-on-month. Year-on-year it's declined a sharp -29%. Followed by Tower Limited (TWR, #41) who also gained +1%, up +5% for the week. Year-on-year Tower is up a strong +51%.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There were 51 decliners and all four of the biggest drops within the NZX50 were the same down by -2%. Freightways (FRW, #19) has stayed flat over the last five sessions gaining +34% year-on-year. Stride Property Group (SPG, #39) has declined by -7% month-on-month, down -1% year-on-year. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) has declined by -5% month-on-month, down -35% year-on-year. Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #16) much similar also declines by -5% for the last month, but declines by -32% from this time last year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Auckland Airport (AIA, #3) has appointed Sean Donohue as a new board director. Donohue is the former CEO of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and has held senior roles at Virgin Australia and United Airlines. His appointment follows the retirement of director Christine Spring and will go to shareholders for approval at the October 2026 Annual Meeting.

Vital Healthcare Property Trust (VHP, #23) will release its results for the six months to 31 December 2025 before market opens on Thursday the 19th of February.

Hallenstein Glasson (HLG, #44) has appointed Graeme Popplewell to provide part‑time consultancy services in New Zealand and Australia. Given this new role, the Board has determined that Popplewell is now classified as a non‑independent director under NZX Listing Rules. Popplewell previously served as the company’s CFO and CEO until 2016.

Vulcan Steel (VSL, #27) has made the second and final payment for its acquisition of Roofing Industries, completing the transaction agreed last August. The final payment represented 20% of the initial NZ$88mln purchase price, adjusted for cash, debt, working capital and fixed assets at the 30th of September completion date.

Spark (SPK, #12) has completed the sale of 75% of its data centre business to Pacific Equity Partners, valuing the business at up to $705 mln. The assets have moved into a new company, TenPeaks Data Centres, in which Spark retains a 25% stake and two board seats. Spark received $453 mln upfront, with up to $98 mln in deferred payments possible. The proceeds will be used to reduce net debt.

Precinct Properties (PCT, #20) has confirmed that the sale of the InterContinental Hotel at One Queen Street in Auckland has now settled. The new owner is a Singaporean operator, purchasing the property for $180 mln.
