Here are the key changes to know about in the New Zealand equity market; Skellerup, Chorus, Channel Infrastructure, and Scales top the gainers to start the week while Fletcher Building, Kathmandu, NZX, and Gentrack are the main decliners

Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 is currently up a minor +0.1%. Over the past month it has declined by -1.1%. Year-on-year it stays up currently gaining +4.9%.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 31 gainers on the board today with Skellerup (SKL, #31) up the front gaining +2%. Skellerup's share price has gained +11% over the past six months, up +6% year-on-year. Chorus (CNU, #13) gained +1%, up +2% over the last five days. In the last six months it has gained +10%, up +12% year-on-year. Channel Infrastructure (CHI, #26) also gained +1%, gaining a sharp +39% over the last six months. Year-on-year it's advanced +54%. Followed by Scales Corp (SCL, #36) who the same as the last two stocks also moved +1%, gaining +26% over the last six months. From this time last year Scales Corp is up +43%.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There were 50 decliners and all four drops today were the same down -2%. Fletcher Building (FBU, #14) is down -5% over the last five days, but gains +25% over the last six months. Year-on-year Fletcher Building is up +27%. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) has declined -4% month-on-month, dropping -33% year-on-year. The NZX (NZX, #45) has also declined by -4% over the past month, but drops -2% year-on-year. Gentrack (GTK, #35) is down -6% over the past five days, and declines by -26% over the past six months. Year-on-year Gentrack has declined -42%.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Contact Energy’s (CEN, #5) Chief Executive, Mike Fuge, and Chief Financial Officer, Matt Forbes, will present the company’s Half Year 2026 financial results for the six months to 31 December on Monday the 16th of February.

Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) reported continued positive sales momentum for the first five months of FY26. Kathmandu led the Group with +12.9% year‑to‑date sales growth, Rip Curl grew +5.6%, and Oboz rose +4.5%. Group sales were up +7.9% year‑to‑date, supported by strong direct‑to‑consumer trading over Black Friday and Christmas. Same‑store sales rose +12.7% for Kathmandu and +1.7% for Rip Curl. Wholesale sales were up +9.4%. Gross margin was 56.7%, slightly lower due to higher promotional activity. First‑half underlying EBITDA is expected to be $8mln-$11mln. The Group has extended its debt facility to April 2027 and expects net debt of $85mln-$90mln. Results will be released on the 25th of March.

Freightways (FRW, #19) has completed its acquisition of VT Freight Express, a Victoria‑based parcels and pallet freight business. The deal strengthens Freightways’ express delivery capabilities in Australia and complements its existing Allied Express operations.
