WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The index is set to gain +0.3% which will put it at a gain of +0.6% over the past five days. Year-on-year it remains up +4.8%.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 38 gainers on the board today and for companies within the NZX50 Vulcan Steel (VSL, #30) had the biggest lift at+6%, up +4% over the past five days. Year-on-year VSL has gained +9%. Napier Port Holdings (NPH, #38) gained +2%, down -3% month-on-month. Year-on-year NPH has gained +39%. Property for Industry (PFI, #28) also gained +2%, down -6% over the past month. Year-on-year PFI has gained +6%. Followed by Precinct Properties (PCT, #20) who also gained +2%, down -6% over the past six months. Year-on-year PCT has declined -2%.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There were 36 decliners today led by Freightways Group (FRW, #19) who declined by -4%. Month-on-month FRW has gained +3%, lifting +32% year-on-year. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #33) and Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #17) both had a -2% drop. SkyCity's share price has dropped -5% over the month, down -33% year-on-year. Ryman has a -9% decline for the month, down -31% year-on-year. Serko (SKO, #49) declined by -1%, down a sharp -13% over the past five days alone. Year-on-year Serko has declined -29%.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Turners Automotive Group (TRA, #37) will hold an Institutional Investor Day on the 24th of March, where senior management will update institutional investors and analysts on the Group’s five‑year strategic plan, long‑term growth priorities, capital allocation settings and key operational initiatives, with the event also including a Q&A session and a stand‑up lunch, and registration available via the Investor Day 2026 form.
Westpac announced that Chief Information Officer Scott Collary will retire later this year after six years with the bank and a long career in financial services. Collary has overseen major modernisation, resilience improvements and simplification across Westpac’s core systems, with CEO Anthony Miller highlighting his central role in strengthening the bank’s technology foundations, particularly in cyber security and scam prevention. Collary will remain with Westpac during a transition period while a search for his successor is underway.
Freightways’ (FRW, #19) HY26 results will be released before NZX trading begins on the 16th of February.
