Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 has dropped -0.8% so far today, despite gaining +1.6% over the past five days and +2.9% for the month. The index is still up +7.5% year-on-year.

THE MAIN GAINERS
There are 38 gainers in the market today. The Warehouse Group (WHS, #49) leads the way, gaining +3%, up +4% over the past five days. Despite being down -16% for the month and -22% over six months, it’s clawed back to -14% year-on-year. Freightways (FRW, #19) also gained +2% today, up +3% over the past five days, and up +5% for the month. It has gained +8% over six months and a massive +49% year-on-year. Mercury (MCY, #5) is up +1%, having gained +2% in the last five days and +9% over the month. It sits at +7% over six months, but still down -9% year-on-year. Vector (VCT, #12) also lifted +1% today, up +6% over the past five days and +9% for the month. The company is up +12% over six months and +18% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There are 32 decliners. F&P Healthcare (FPH, #1) is down -3%, though it has gained +1% over the past five days and is up +22% year-on-year. SkyCity (SKC, #36) dropped -2%, down -2% over the last five days, and -3% for the month. It has declined -39% over six months and is down -40% year-on-year. Channel Infrastructure (CHI, #31) is -1% lower today, despite gaining +6% over the month and +15% over six months. It has gained +48% year-on-year. Tower Limited (TWR, #40) is also down -1% today, despite being up +5% over the month, +16% over six months, and a sharp +74% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kiwi Property Group (KPG, #23) has confirmed a nine-year lease extension with ASB Bank at ASB North Wharf in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter. The high-quality, award-winning office building was originally developed for ASB in 2013. CEO Clive Mackenzie said the agreement reinforces the strength of Kiwi Property’s tenant relationships and the enduring value of the North Wharf asset.

The Port of Tauranga (POT, #10) has announced it will release its financial results for the year ended 30 June 2025 on Friday, 29 August 2025, at approximately 8.30am NZT.

The Warehouse Group (WHS, #49) has announced that Executive General Manager of Merchandise, Tania Benyon, will leave the company on 31 July 2025 after 18 years of service. Benyon has held multiple leadership roles since joining in 2007 and most recently led the refresh of the product range and pricing as part of the Group’s turnaround plan. Carrie Fairley, currently General Manager of Merchandise and Trade Planning, has been appointed Acting Executive General Manager, Merchandise.

Freightways Group (FRW, #19) has confirmed it will release its financial results for the year ended 30 June 2025 on Monday, 18 August 2025.

Manawa Energy (MEL, #20) has confirmed the High Court has granted final orders approving the Scheme of Arrangement under which Contact Energy will acquire all ordinary shares in Manawa. Trading in Manawa shares will halt at close on 7 July 2025, with a record date set for 9 July. Shareholders on record will receive $1.12 in cash and 0.5830 Contact shares per Manawa share on 11 July. Ineligible overseas shareholders will receive net cash proceeds by 8 August 2025. No further action is required for participating shareholders.
