WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX 50 currently posts a strong result today, rising +0.9%, extending gains to +2.7% over the last five days and +1.4% over the past month. Despite the recent rebound, the benchmark index remains down -2.5% over six months, while still holding a healthy +6.1% gain year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 49 gainers across the market, led by Gentrack (GTK, #40), which surged +11%, continuing its recent recovery with gains of +11% over the last five days despite remaining down -53% over six months and -66% year-on-year. EBOS Group (EBO, #11) climbed +3%, while Infratil (IFT, #4) also gained +3%, extending a powerful rally with gains of +21% over the past five days, +29% over the month, and +28% year-on-year. Scales Corporation (SCL, #33) lifted +2%, improving to +4% over the last month and +45% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the downside, 30 companies declined during the session. Tourism Holdings (THL, #45) fell -2%, although the stock remains up +53% year-on-year. SkyCity (SKC, #37) also dropped -2%, continuing weaker momentum with declines of -17% over six months and -37% year-on-year. Argosy Property (ARG, #31) eased -1%, while still holding a +6% year-on-year gain, and Turners Automotive (TRA, #34) slipped -1%, despite remaining one of the stronger long-term performers with gains of +18% over six months and +53% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
ANZ has announced it will redeem its US$1 bln 6.750% Fixed Rate Resetting Perpetual Subordinated Contingent Convertible Securities on the 15th of June following written approval from APRA, noting the redemption does not indicate any intention to redeem other outstanding callable capital instruments in the future.
Sanford Limited (SAN, #38) has confirmed it will release its financial results for the six months ended 31 March on Thursday, the 14th of May.
