Bayleys Real Estate sold two thirds of their Auckland auction properties last week (week to March 11).
The company marketed 26 residential properties for sale by auction over the week, achieving sales on 17 of them with the remaining nine either passed in or withdrawn from sale.
In the Waikato the company took two residential properties to auction, both of them being substantial homes on lifestyle blocks, one of which was sold and the other passed in.
A highlight of the Auckland auctions were a couple of gracious old heritage properties, a large house in Takapuna that sold for $1.77 million, and an apartment in the Westminster Court building in the CBD that went for $690,000.
See below for Bayleys Auckland and Waikato auction results, with photos and details of all properties, including those that didn't sell.

Fourteen Auckland properties sold on average 39.8% above CV. (Excluding Takapuna heritage house)
I excluded the 10 acre block in Kumeu which sold for a whopping 143% above CV as that would have unfairly skewed the figures plus I usually only include normal Auckland houses/apartments.
I wonder why the heritage house in Takapuna only sold for 1.77M when its 2104 CV was 1.7M? Anyone know? Big section, close to the beach, I would have picked upwards of 2.3M...
Possibly needs major work?
Edit: I see why now - Grade A protected as a heritage site. i should exclude it from my calculations.
I think the Harbour Bridge is a turn-off for many especially if you need to cross it twice a day not knowing if there is going to be an accident somewhere (like last Friday) holding up the traffic.
Yes it would certainly put me off. I live in DGZ and often only ten minutes to work. It was amazing how that heritage home affected my figures.
Well if you think the Harbour bridge is bad, you should see the tail back of traffic that I pass most mornings, backed up from as far as the West Gate area to the city. I think people don't realise how bad the commute is if they're having to commute from places like Kumeu and Riverhead to the CBD.
Have they finished that never-ending story of the Lincoln Road overpass yet?
