The Opening Bell: Where currencies start on Wednesday, July 22, 2015

The NZDUSD opens this morning at .6635.

The NZD has once again outperformed all its major trading partners on the back of broad USD weakness and what appears to be traders taking profit on their short positions ahead of tomorrow mornings RBNZ announcement.

Elsewhere Greece has made its first payment since the bailout crisis repaying the IMF and the ECB with the European Commission's EUR 7.16 billion bridge-loan.

Gold prices plunged have rebounded back above $1100 currently up 3.6% to $1101 an ounce.

WTI Crude Oil is slightly higher up 0.42% to $50.36 a barrel.

World equity markets are mixed with both the European and US markets broadly lower: Dow  -1.18%, S&P 500 -0.51%, FTSE -0.29%, DAX -1.12%, CAC -0.75%, Nikkei +0.93%, Shanghai +0.64%.
