Harcourts auctioned 235 homes throughout the country last week. Prices started at $200,000 but there was only a handful that sold for under $500,000 in Auckland
This Takapuna house sold for $1.758 million.

Harcourts has released the results of 235 homes it took to auction last week, with the most expensive home selling for $1.758 million and the cheapest for $200,000.

The top price was paid for a four bedroom plus study house with a granny flat attached (pictured right) at Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore. It was on a 974 square metre section and comes with a swimming pool.

The cheapest house (pictured below) was a new 198 square metre house which was not completely finished. It was on a 3930 square metre rural section at Maungakaramea in Northland and was part of a deceased's estate. It sold for $200,000.

In Auckland there wasn't much that sold for under $500,000, although a couple of two bedroom houses in Papatoetoe went for $485,000 and $497,000 and a 1960s do-up in Manurewa went for $470,000.

In Hamilton a two bedroom house in Hamilton East sold for $293,000 and in Papamoa near Mt Maunganui a three bedroom brick house sold for $375,000.

At Naenae in Lower Hutt you could have picked up a three bedroom house for $325,000, and in Palmerston North a redecorated three bedroom house at Westend fetched $320,000.

In Christchurch Harcourts' auctioneers were busy from one side of the city to the other with several Sydenham properties going under the hammer, a three bedroom unit in Riccarton selling for $400,000 and a two bedroom unit in St Albans selling for $272,500 (full results for all 235 homes put up for auction are available below).
