The Opening Bell: Where currencies start for Monday, July 22, 2013

By Dan Bell

The NZD/USD opens around 0.79 this morning relatively unchanged from Friday.

At this stage the Wellington earthquakes have had little to no impact on the NZD.

The NZD opens at current indicative rates 0.8598 AUD, 0.6008 EUR, 0.5170 GBP, 79.37 JPY, 0.8183 CAD.

US stocks had a mixed session with the S&P 500 up 0.16% while the Dow closed down 0.03%.

Nothing to report on the domestic calendar today although any further movements in Wellington will keep the market nervous. The focus in NZ this week will be the RBNZ on Thursday morning.
