This series is based on our archived records for all banks, as at 5pm each Friday. It is a simple average of all retail offerings of each bank brand.
Please note that an update was made to this data from the beginning of August, 2018. A further update is due soon backdating it to January 2018. This update limits the averaging to the ten core banks active in the New Zealand mortgage market (whereas it previously was an average of 'all banks"). The old result overstated the real market level.
Where an institution offers different products for the same term, we choose the standard residential offer, and in consultation with the institution, the rate where the main volume activity is taking place.

The lower interest rates go, the more worried we should be. When anything is sold at a cut price -in this case money- the more desperate must be the situation.
Is there a way to see this information for a particular bank mortgage product rather than the average for all banks and all offerings?
That would be interesting! [evil grin]
As would what what each bank actually did for each mortgage / re-fix (which we'll never get because secrecy comes with our supposed 'competition'.)
can I export to Excel please
